- Christian Ramus is born in Nykøbing Falster.
- 1825-32:
- Student in mathematics etc. at the University of Copenhagen.
- 1831-37:
- He teaches mathematics temporarily at Polyteknisk Læreanstalt
(the Polytechnic), Copenhagen.
- 1832:
- He wins a competition about the university position in mathematics.
- 1833-34:
- Lektor in mathematics at the University of Copenhagen.
- 1834-50:
- Extra-ordinary professor in mathematics at the University of
Copenhagen.
- 1838-56:
- Professor in mathematics at the Polytechnic, Copenhagen.
- 1850-56:
- Ordinary professor in mathematics at the University of Copenhagen.
- 1856 June 5:
- Ramus dies in Copenhagen.
Ramus was elected as member of the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and
Letters in 1834.
