1806 December 5:
Christian Ramus is born in Nykøbing Falster.
1825-32:
Student in mathematics etc. at the University of Copenhagen.
1831-37:
He teaches mathematics temporarily at Polyteknisk Læreanstalt (the Polytechnic), Copenhagen.
1832:
He wins a competition about the university position in mathematics.
1833-34:
Lektor in mathematics at the University of Copenhagen.
1834-50:
Extra-ordinary professor in mathematics at the University of Copenhagen.
1838-56:
Professor in mathematics at the Polytechnic, Copenhagen.
1850-56:
Ordinary professor in mathematics at the University of Copenhagen.
1856 June 5:
Ramus dies in Copenhagen.

Ramus was elected as member of the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters in 1834.
